More Big Bingo Winners on the New UK National Game

The new National Bingo game is proving very lucky for some UK bingo players and the latest in a string of winners is a seventy-one year old grandmother from Hastings.

The lucky lady and her husband were playing bingo at their local Delux in Pelham Place last weekend, when they won The Platinum prize of £326,508 plus the National Game prize of £11,590 as well as the Regional prize of £1,451. She completed her full house in forty-two calls and this was the lowest number of calls in the entire network of 470 bingo clubs nationwide.

She says that when they announced she had won, she was trembling from the soles of her feet to the tips of her fingers, and her mind was spinning. The first thing her husband asked was if he could buy a new car and they went out and ordered a brand new Vauxhall Mervia. The balance of the win will also be put to good use as the couple have already given £100,000 to family members and are planning to visit their son in New Zealand as he moved there to live four years ago and the couple haven’t had the money to visit. Well now they do, and if they like they will be able to go once a year for a very long time!

Local Calling Bingo While Friends Mourn His Passing

A local war hero from Stalybridge, Manchester, was calling bingo numbers at his nursing home, while former colleagues at the local council where he once worked were observing a minutes silence as they believed he had passed on.

The gentleman who once worked with them was a veteran of World War II and when his colleagues heard that Jack Brooks, aged eighty-four, had passed away they believed it to be their colleague.

Meanwhile the real Jack Brooks that they knew and loved was busily entertaining his fellow nursing home inmates in a rousing game of bingo. The former commander of Stalybridge, when asked about his feelings towards the fact that his mates believed he had passed on was, “I have been feeling a little bit under the weather recently, but I am very happy to say that I am not quite dead yet!”

It seems to me that Mr. Jack Brooks, is probably enjoying the health benefits of playing bingo, after all it has been said that bingo keeps your mind young, and the socialising aspects of playing bingo have been propounded as having a really good effect on the health of the elderly.
