Overall, the year 2007 has been a great year for bingo in the UK, both for the industry and the players. There have been millionaires created and people who have won considerable amounts of money playing both bingo online and in the land based game.

In a move by Transport for London officials and the Advertising Standards Authority, the adverts have been canned because it was thought that they could cause widespread offense.

Bingo Future in US Market for UK Operators Still in the Dark
Again delays have put the future of online bingo operations on hold for UK online bingo and EU operators, it was felt that by Friday 14th December, the world would know what the outcome of the meetings between the US and the World trade Organisation would be.
It was dearly hoped that the WTO would take a strong stand against the US for unilaterally deciding to create its own restraint of trade restrictions whilst the country was still a member country of the organisation. An eighty three year old grandmother, from Brandon, finally won big, appropriately enough her bingo win at the Winners Club on London Road, Brandon, came after having played bingo for nearly forty years; she first started playing bingo in 1968 when cinemas still played games of bingo between the screenings of films. When interviewed by the National bingo the lady, who desires to remain anonymous, stated that she plats bingo forty-eight weeks in the year, every Monday night and the most she has ever won has been £200. She says that she got such a big shock when she heard how much she had won, that she tried to keep playing but just couldn’t concentrate as everything seemed fuzzy and unreal.
The lucky winner of the national bingo jackpot said that she will be getting her family together for a party and would definitely be giving something extra to her children and grandchildren for Christmas. Her eighty-four year old husband sometimes plays bingo with her but prefers watching sport on the telly so he was not aware of her huge win until she got home and told him.
