Bingo Advertising for Paddy Power Given the Red Light
The London Underground railways system who had in principle approved the new advertising campaign for Paddy Power bingo has had to take a stand and disallow the new advertising campaign from being displayed in their premises.
In a move by Transport for London officials and the Advertising Standards Authority, the adverts have been canned because it was thought that they could cause widespread offense.
The advertising material of the campaign was targeted on women and in particular online bingo playing women, depicted in ad one was a man trying to breastfeed a baby with the caption “where have all the women gone” which held the implication that the woman in the family is otherwise occupied with playing online bingo. The adverts are presently being displayed on and opinion website set up by Paddy Power bingo. So if you would like to see them and voice your opinion. Visit www.shouldthisbecensored.com.
Paddy Power bingo is not unduly concerned about the London Underground railway disallowing the advertising campaign as they have experienced bans on previous advertising campaigns, they will simply step up their spending elsewhere to compensate for any loss that might be incurred by the ban.
