Scottish First Minister Gets on Bingo Taxation’s Case!

Finally it is wonderful to see a politician who is willing to take a pledge to assist in the cause of bingo and its insane taxation scenario. Alex Salmond who is better known as a politician, took to the stage and called a bingo games at Fraserburgh.

Whilst meeting with bingo players and staff at the Carton Bingo, he pledged that he would support the call to challenge the Chancellor to do something about the disparity in taxation between bingo halls and casino’s.

It was good to hear him voice concern that a down to earth pastime such as cash bingo, that is enjoyed by honest working class people throughout the British Isles should be condemned by taxation levels of 27% while casino’s, who are a far more of a problem and more controversial are only taxed at a rate of 15%.

Mr Salmond said that that the disparity of taxation is completely unfair and the will be going to tackle Alistair Darling to do something to accommodate the situation within the next budget. It is his feeling that bingo should be treated at least equally to the other gaming sectors, and seems pretty committed to doing something about getting some honest changes made.
