New President at EUBingo
EUBingo is the Federation of European Bingo Associations. They have elected a new president, who will serve for the next two years. He is Javier Franch Cardona of Spain, who was elected at last’s week’s annual meeting that was held in Brussels.
Cardona is the President of the Spanish Association of Bingo Entrepreneurs. His predecessor is Sir Peter Fry whose term expired. Fry is the Chairman of the Bingo Association of Great Britain and he will now serve as the Vice-President of EUBingo. The position of Secretary is now held by Italo Marcotti of Italy.
Cardona sees very specific issues to be resolved during his two year term. Smoking bans have resulted in drops in attendance and revenues at land based bingo halls. Ensuring responsible gaming and competition are a continued issue.
EUBingo had adopted a common policy toward responsible gaming. They also plan to establish a European Social Dialogue for gambling. The group will continue to monitor the changes in gaming regulations and looks forward to recruiting other new members from the other European nations.
