The Attraction of Bingo

Bingo is one of the most popular gambling games, whether it is played online or in a brick and mortar environment. A reporter decided to investigate the game and its popularity.  Why is bingo so popular?   What is the attraction?  How do newcomers fare at a bingo game in comparison with the regulars?

Bingo reached its heights of popularity in the 1970s and again in the 1990s. The attraction waned, and then became popular again, as online bingo appeared on the scene.  A couple of bingo virgin reporters visited a Gala Bingo club to investigate the phenomenon and found that they couldn’t keep up with the regulars.  A talk with the club manager revealed that people take their bingo seriously because of the money at stake. 

The reporters talked to some of the other players and found that many had belonged to Gala for many years.  The playing group was like a family to them.  This was the reason given by most of the people they talked to who came to the bingo club for the entertainment and the friends that they made there.

With many bingo halls closing in the UK, many players are now switching to online play, which is something the reporters didn’t investigate.  Online play offers players the opportunity to form the same kind of friendships through the online site’s community features.
